Oscars 2018: Frances McDormand Wins Best Actress

Frances McDormand wins the Oscar for Best Actress during the 90th Academy Awards for her role as Mildred in ‘Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri’.

In her speech, she said ‘she has some things to say’. McDormand thanked all the people in the building and her sister, Dorothy. She thanked the producers of the movie. McDormand made her fellow female nominees stand up with her! What an OG!

In this case, Our Movie Life is in disagreement with the Academy. While Frances McDormand is undeniably amazing in ‘Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri’, we actually think that Margot Robbie’s performance as Tonya Harding was a tad better. While this is a very unpopular opinion, it’s justified: Margot Robbie embodied Tonya Harding and gave an extremely emotional performance. And while the same may apply for Frances McDormand, we think that Robbie’s acting showed more range and was, thus, more impressive.
