10 Reasons Why ‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’ Is a Masterpiece
‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’ is a fantastic movie. It’s one of those films that, to me, is perfect; I find absolutely nothing wrong with it and I have felt this way ever since the first time I saw it. I watched it again a couple of days ago and, needless to say, I still f*****g love it. I didn’t feel like doing a typical review of ‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’ because I would just basically ramble on about how good it is. So, here are ten specific reasons as to why ‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’ is a masterpiece.
Reason №1: Samuel L. Jackson like you’ve never seen him before.
This is not Samuel L. Jackson in ‘Pulp Fiction’. This is not Samuel L. Jackson in ‘Snakes on a Plane’. This is not even Samuel L. Jackson in the MCU. I can guarantee, you have never seen Samuel Jackson this awesome. He is so unbelievably ridiculous and funny in ‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’ that you can easily forget that you are watching the same guy that was Jules Winnfield.
Reason №2: Amazing action sequences.
If you have seen this film, you know exactly which scene this is inspired by (and if you haven’t seen this film, go f*****g see it!). The action sequences in ‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’ are so different from everything you see. Matthew Vaughn’s direction is great here, but he is particularly awesome when it comes to action sequences. There are a couple of fight scenes that will surely leave you shocked and in awe. To be honest, that church scene was a masterpiece on its own, forget the rest of the movie.
Reason №3: No romance.
When you see the character on the picture above for the first time, you are going to be absolutely sure that she and the main character will have a love arch. But no. There is no unneeded romance in ‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’. The film does no favor to that part of the public which loves romance in a movie and that’s why its awesome. It’s coherent and doesn’t include anything for the sake of it just ‘being there’. No cheesy scenes, no unnecessary drama, and no love arch. Just awesomeness.
Reason №4: Great performances.
This movie stars Colin Firth, Samuel L. Jackson, and Michael Caine. Taron Egerton, whom I had’t heard of before watching ‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’, is amazing in this film. And this is his first serious production, too. All actors are great in the movie and they fit their characters perfectly. Oh, and did I mention that Mark Hamill is also in this film?!
Reason №5:It knows exactly what it is and what it wants to achieve.
‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’ knows it purpose and does everything to complete it. The film is very aware of what it is and what public it means to gather. There are even a few references as to why the film is totally a spy movie and the characters discuss among themselves if they are the villain or the hero of the story. Honestly, ‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’ is very ironic with itself, as well as with other spy features.
Reason №6: The soundtrack is awesome.
The soundtrack is completely coherent with everything else. Whether it’s an action scene or a dialogue scene, the soundtrack works and fixes the tone of that scene. It gives of a spy vibe, keeps situations tense, and gives the viewer a fully-enjoyable experience.
Reason №7: Amazing editing and great cinematography.
Throughout the whole movie, the editing is fantastic. There are certain scenes that are polished by perfect editing. The cinematography is also exquisite and gives a little something to the general tone of the film. And these things are specifically noticeable when it comes to the fight scenes.
Reason №8: The villain.
The villain is unlike anything you have seen before. With this villain, ‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’ obviously f***s with itself because it is f*****g ridiculous. He is so funny and so ironic you couldn’t believe it. It is another separation from the classical spy genre because the villain is certainly not like any villain from a Bond movie. And above everything else, he is played by Samuel L. Jackson…
Reason №9: The spy vibe.
Above all else, ‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’ is a spy movie. It serves to that genre and does so amazingly well. It is a spy feature, for sure, but the great thing is that it doesn’t subject itself to boundaries that that genre presents. It is a new and original production that gives you something no Bond movie ever will.
Reason №10: It presents you valuable life lessons.
‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’ is filled with philosophical ideas and concepts. The movie presents you with life lessons that actually impact you. This is truly an honorable and awesome thing to do and I respect the movie highly because of it. I will just give you my favorite quote from the movie to finish this list of:
Harry Hart: [Quoting Ernest Hemingway] ‘There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self.’
And there you have it. My ten reasons as to why ‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’ is a masterpiece. It’s probably very obvious by now, but I love this movie. It is truly an awesome production, so if you haven’t seen it yet, go and watch it. I guarantee you won’t regret it!
Hope you enjoyed!
